Keeping in view the demand and supply orders of cakes on Christmas, FSDA on Tuesday raided 29 bakeries in the city on suspicion of adulteration and poor quality and took samples of cakes and pastries. Seized 540 kg of rusks from SS Bakers in Tedhi Bagiya.

The FSDA team started this investigation operation on Tuesday afternoon. The team reached Pawan Vihar in Tedhi Bagiya across Yamuna, where SS Bakers were making packets in the name of SS Cashew Rusk. 540 kg of rusks were seized here. The manufacturing date was not written on any of the packets, nor was the expiry date marked. Nothing was written on the packet of Rusk including batch number, license number. On this FSDA seized 540 kg of rusk. Assistant Commissioner-2 Shashank Tripathi said that this investigation campaign was conducted in view of Christmas. A large number of cakes were prepared in advance in the bakery. Samples were collected to check their quality. These include 29 bakery establishments.

Plum Cakes at Ameesha’s in Sadar Bazaar, Blue Berry Cakes from Vinny Cakes in Paschimpuri, Chhabra Cakes, Nandini Cakes, Rahul Bakers Shahganj, Vansh Confectionery Maruti Estate, Divya Bakers Balkeshwar, Tinku of Pinahat, Roop Kumar, Theobroma of Civil Lines, Kalindi Shivani Bakers from Vihar, Delhi Darbar from Rui Ki Mandi, Hemant Agarwal, Sunil Kumar from Fatehpur Sikri. And cake samples have been taken from Chhabra Bakers from Asafoetida Mandi and sent to the lab for testing.
